“Nothing in science has any value to society if it is not communicated” This quote from Anne Roe, really sums up my feelings about science. I got into science to connect people to the world around them. There is no point in doing research if it doesn’t impact, teach, and inspire. Knowledge and learning isn’t limited to the few that are doing the work - science shouldn’t be an echo chamber for scientists. It is for everyone.
This morning I was invited to be part of the 2023-2024 Cohort of the American Geophysical Union, Voices for Science Program. Through the program I will learn about science communication, and host outreach activities to share science - it's for everyone!
